The John A McKenzie / Selby Scientific Award was inaugurated in 2005 at the University of Melbourne. It was first awarded in 2006 and is presented annually. Where students achieve the same academic score the prize may be split and this has already occurred on one occasion. Since the establishment of the Award there have been a total of 10 recipients.
